Springfield, Mo. – The SBU teams were competing just south of Bolivar against their Highway 13 rivals, Drury. The men's team upset the #14 nationally ranked and #2 regionally ranked Panthers, 5-2. That win boosts them above .500 to 9-8 on the season.

Drury won the first doubles match on court 1, but Adham Gaber and Ilyes Khelifi dominated their opponents 6-1 on court 2 to even things up. David Szeri and Alvaro Nunez cleaned things up with a 6-3 victory on court 3, handing SBU a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

The Panthers were quick to strike back and even things at 1-1 after court 2 finished playing. Responding with a strong 6-1 6-3 victory on court 1, Adham Gaber gave SBU a 2-1 lead and picked up his 13th singles win on the season. Alvaro Nunez followed, losing the first set 6-7, but winning his second set 6-3 and third set 6-2 to help SBU go up 3-1. Winning the match point was David Szeri, coming from behind to defeat his opponent 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 on court 4. Drury's second point of the match came on court 5, but SBU's Ilyes Khelifi gave SBU an insurance point with a three-set victory on court 6.
