Bolivar, Mo. – The regular season came to an end for the SBU Tennis teams on Sunday. Winning their 7
th match in a row, the SBU men's team downed the Quincy Hawks 6-1 to end with a 14-8 (5-0 GLVC) record.
David Szeri and
Alvaro Nunez had no problems with their opponents, as they won 6-0 on court 3 of doubles play.
Max Sanoja and
Carlos Corser followed with a nearly identical 6-1 victory on court 1, and
Adham Gaber and
Youssef Nabil rounded out doubles play with a 6-3 win on court 2 to complete the sweep.
Adham Gaber was the first to finish in singles play, winning with ease on court 1, 6-0, 6-1.
Carlos Corser was next to finish, going 6-1, 6-3 for the victory on court 2. The match was officially won by
Alvaro Nunez thanks to his 6-2, 6-3 finish on court 3. Two more points were won by SBU,
David Szeri (6-2, 6-2) on court 4, and
Max Sanoja (6-2, 6-4) on court 5.
Logan French battled hard on senior day, but fell to his opponent on court 6, creating a 6-1 final.
The GLVC Tournament will take place on Friday, April 30 through Sunday, May 2 in Romeoville, IL.
