Liberty, Mo. – For the third straight game, the SBU Men's Tennis team completed a sweep of their opponents. Saturday's matchup featured the Cardinals of William Jewell, falling to the Bearcats by a score of 7-0. The team improves to 12-8 (3-0 GLVC West Division) with two regular season matches remaining.
SBU had a 1-0 lead in doubles play with the Cardinals not having players on court 3.
Adham Gaber and
Youssef Nabil quickly gained the doubles point, as they downed their opponents 6-0 on court 2. WJC won the doubles match on court 1, but the point had already gone to the Bearcats.
Logan French and
Max Sanoja won their matches without playing, as the Cardinals didn't have anyone on courts 5 and 6.
Adham Gaber continued to play well, defeating his opponent 6-3, 6-1 on court 1 to clinch the match.
David Szeri followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win on court 2, and
Ilyes Khelifi won on court 3 with scores of 7-5, 6-0. Winning the last point to make the score 7-0 was
Fabian Neff, taking court 4 by a score of 6-4, 6-0.
Saturday marked the final road game for the regular season, as the Bearcats return home to host Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, April 16. That match is set to begin at 2:00 PM.
