Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist fought back against a Quincy team that is receiving votes in the top 25 but came up just short in a 5-4 loss. This game makes the Bearcats record 10-11 (7-10 GLVC) for the season.
Quincy got on the board early with 3 runs in the first two innings but the Bearcats responded with
Jackson Soule driving in
Sam Avila in the 2
nd inning. The Hawks extended their lead out to 5-1 through 4 innings but wouldn't score the remainder of the game.
Colby Sneed hit a home run in the 4
th inning to bring it to 5-2.
Josh Scott would drive in runs in both the 6
th and 7
th innings to mount a comeback that came up just short.
Colby Sneed led the Bearcats with his home run along with
Josh Scott leading the Bearcats in RBIs with 2 for the game.
Kyle Smith had the start on the bump and went 7 full innings and striking out 2 with only 3 walks.
The Bearcats will finish up the weather shortened series tomorrow with a doubleheader starting at 12:00 PM.
