Bolivar, Mo. – The Bearcats men's soccer team lost a physical battle against Lewis University in a 2-0 finish. This makes the Bearcats record 3-6-1 on the season and in the GLVC with 3 remaining games in the season before the GLVC tournament.
Southwest Baptist controlled the possession early in the match with a quick shot by
Kevin Zavala in the 2
nd minute. Lewis would net one goal in the first half and another in the second half. The match would get chippy late with Lewis being rewarded two yellow cards in the final 3 minutes of the game.
Alberto Rodriguez and
David Sanchez each had two shots for the Bearcats.
Will vanHoornbeek had another solid performance with 6 saves in goal for SBU.
The Bearcats next game against Illinois-Springfield has been postponed due to COVID-19 so they will play at Quincy on April 9 at 7:30 PM.
