Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist outshot the Miners but came out just short with a 2-0 loss. This pushes their record to 0-2-1 (0-2-1 GLVC) for the season.
Maya Cofield had the first shot of the game just 5 minutes into the match. The Bearcats played some tough defense but let in a goal in the 24
th minute to trail 1-0. SBU had 4 corner kicks in the first half and got 3 shots from those but couldn't capitalize on those opportunities. SBU attempted to strike early with a shot from
Raegan Edwards just 16 seconds into the second half but went just over the bar.
Raegan Edwards led the Bearcats with 7 shots on the day along with
Alexis Hale having 3 shots including 1 on goal. The Bearcats kept the Miners to just 7 shots total in which
Ashlyn Gibbs had 1 save on those. The Bearcats finished with 7 corner kicks to Missouri S&T's 2 corners.
Southwest Baptist will be on the road for their next matchup against Maryville on March 12.
