Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist got the 1-0 win over Missouri S&T with some good defense late. This pushes the Bearcats record to 1-1-1 on the season.
The Bearcats started strong with some physical defense that led to a yellow card. A short stoppage in play led to Missouri S&T heading it back into their own zone and just past their goalie who couldn't recover and scored the first and only goal of the game. The Bearcats had another opportunity on a cross in the 86
th minute that was deflected by
Armani Morato but was saved by the goalie.
Jaden Hayes led the Bearcats on offense with 3 shots and 2 being on goal.
Will vanHoornbeek had a fantastic game with 7 saves including 5 in the second half. The Miners played the second half downwind which helped them control the second half, but the defense of the Bearcats stepped up and held the Miners scoreless.
