Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist started strong against conference heavyweight Drury but faltered late to drop the cat fight 5-0 to the Panthers. This makes the Bearcats record 0-1-1 (0-1-1 GLVC) on the season.
Drury scored the first goal of the game just 10 minutes in but SBU held the Panthers to nothing more in the first half. At the 23-minute mark
Maya Cofield would test the Drury goalie with a shot but would be denied. Drury would have a surge in the 60
th minute and would take a bigger lead but the Bearcats would halt the run and keep them scoreless in the final 25 minutes.
Raegan Edwards led the Bearcats in shots with 2 along with
Maya Cofield having 1 shot on goal.
Ashlynn Edison would have 4 saves as the last line of defense for the Bearcats.
Morgan Houston and
Kailey Weiskopf each had a shot on goal during the match as well.
The Bearcats will be back at home on March 7 at 12:00 when they face off against the Miners of Missouri S&T.
