St. Charles, Mo. – Southwest Baptist dropped two matches to Indianapolis and Lindenwood who are both in the top of the GLVC standings. The Bearcats dropped both game in 3 sets and made their record 2-8 (2-8 GLVC) for the season.
Game One
The Bearcats hung close with the Greyhounds in the first set with a final score of 25-18 followed up with a 25-15 loss in the second set. The third set was back and forth with the Bearcats tying it up at 21 points apiece, but the Greyhounds pulled away for a 25-21 set win. Southwest Baptist finished the match with 6 blocks compared to Indianapolis' 5 blocks.
Rachel Francis led the Bearcats at the net with 9 kills.
Ashleigh DeWees and
Loran Pritchett combined for 28 total digs in the match.
Lindsey Barton helped to create for the Bearcats with 11 digs in the match.
Game Two
Southwest Baptist lost the first set 25-9 but came back stronger in the second set and won 3 of the four final points to attempt a comeback before falling 25-21. The final set ended with the Lions winning 25-12 to seal the match. The Bearcats were led by
Rachel Francis once again with 6 kills.
Loran Pritchett led the Bearcats in assists with 7 along with
Ashley Lasher leading the team in digs with 5.
Southwest Baptist will be back on the road in Kansas City on March 26 when they face off against Rockhurst.
