Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist battled back against McKendree but came up just short and fell 62-72. This pushes the Bearcats record to 4-10 (4-10 GLVC) for the season.
Southwest Baptist got on the board first when
Mary Rose Foster made a three with 6:49 remaining in the first quarter. SBU tied it back up at 10 before McKendree would lead 27-17 at the end of the first quarter. The Bearcats started the second quarter strong and grabbed their first lead of the game 29-28 after a 12-1 run to start the quarter. Southwest Baptist trailed by 9 at one point in the third quarter but used a 13-6 run to finish the quarter and trail by just two entering the fourth quarter.
Kyleigh Vaught would make two free throws with 4:47 remaining to tie it back up at 61 before falling 72-62.
Kyleigh Vaught led the Bearcats in scoring with 16 points including 7-8 from the free throw line.
Regan Tibbits grabbed 7 boards along with 11 points.
Sydney Bandy and
Rachel Tippens also grabbed 6 rebounds each.
Megan Worthington came off the bench to score 7 points for the Bearcats as well.
