Tulsa, Okla. – The SBU Men's team was in Tulsa Friday afternoon, taking on #18 ranked Southeastern Oklahoma State. Another upset went SBU's way, as the Bearcats defeated the Savage Storm 4-3.
David Szeri and
Fabian Neff dominated doubles play on court 3, winning 6-1.
Adham Gaber and
Youssef Nabil sealed the doubles point with a 7-6 (6-3 tie break) victory on court 2. SEOSU won court 1, but SBU had already claimed the doubles point.
The Savage Storm evened the score at 1-1 after winning by retirement on court 1, and jumped out to a 2-1 lead with a victory on court 5.
David Szeri had a close match on court 4 to even the score back at 2-2. Another point was then won by the Bearcats,
Alvaro Nunez handling his opponent 6-0, 5-7, 6-0 on court 3.
Youssef Nabil gave SBU their 4
th point of the afternoon on court 6, defeating his opponent 6-1, 3-6, 6-2. SEOSU's 3
rd point came on court 2 after the match was already won by SBU.
The Bearcats will be back in action next weekend, taking on Cameron University on Friday, March 5 at 9 AM in Wichita Falls, TX.
