Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist held the Quincy Hawks in check for a 69-50 win. This helps push the Bearcats record to 5-13 (5-13 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats started the game hot with a quick 12-0 run thanks to 5 points from
Kyleigh Vaught. Southwest Baptist continued the good play by outscoring the Hawks 14-11 in the second quarter. Quincy brought it back to a 1-point game with early in the fourth quarter but a 21-3 run in the final 9 minutes of the fourth quarter helped to solidify the Bearcats victory.
The Bearcats were led in scoring by
Sydney Bandy with 16 points on 25 minutes.
Rachel Tippens came off the bench to knock down 11 points for the cause.
Mary Rose Foster led the Bearcats in rebounds with 7 followed by Bandy with 6 and 4 other players with 5 rebounds. SBU had a team total of 42 rebounds compared to a 27-rebound mark by the Hawks.
The Bearcats will be back in action for the final game of the season on February 27 at 1:00 in Kirksville when they face off against Truman State.
