Rolla, Mo. – Southwest Baptist travelled to Rolla in the snowy weather to face off against the Miners of Missouri S&T. The Bearcats fell in 3 sets to push their record to 1-2 (1-2 GLVC) for the season.
Delanie Tipton got the first point of the game for the Bearcats with a kill from
Ashleigh DeWees' pass.
Rachel Pfeifer followed that up with an ace on the next serve. The Bearcats would extend their lead to 10-6 and led 17-13 late in the set before falling 19-25. The Miners would go on to win the 2
nd and 3
rd set with scores of 13-25 and 9-25.
Delanie Tipton and
Rachel Francis led the Bearcats offensively with 7 kills each.
Loran Pritchett led the team in assists with 11 in the match.
Lindsey Barton created opportunities for the Bearcats off of her 6 digs in the match. Francis led the Bearcats in points as well with 9.
Southwest Baptist will be back in action on February 20 when they travel to face Lewis University.
