Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Volleyball was back in town Tuesday evening, beginning their final home stint of the 2021 season. Competing against the Bearcats was Missouri S&T, entering the match with a 17-9 record. The match went to 5 sets, where S&T ended up on top, dropping SBU to 10-18 (5-12 GLVC).
SBU jumped out to a quick start and rode that momentum to a 25-20 first set victory. The visitors bounced back with a strong 25-16 win in set two. They held on in a tighter third set, taking a 2-1 lead with a 25-20 final. A strong fourth set by SBU kept them in the match, taking it 25-21 to force a decisive fifth set. Despite Missouri S&T taking a 5-0 lead, SBU battled back to trail just 10-9. The Miners were ahead 13-12 when they took the final two points of the set, 15-12 for the 3-2 match victory. Ive Miller, 3), assists (
Loran Pritchett, 47), and digs (
Aleena Peterson, 20).
The team will wrap up their 2021 fall season on Saturday, playing host to William Jewell at 3:00 PM.
