Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Volleyball was back in town Tuesday evening, beginning their final home stint of the 2021 season. Competing against the Bearcats was Missouri S&T, entering the match with a 17-9 record. The match went to 5 sets, where S&T ended up on top, dropping SBU to 10-18 (5-12 GLVC).
 
SBU jumped out to a quick start and rode that momentum to a 25-20 first set victory. The visitors bounced back with a strong 25-16 win in set two. They held on in a tighter third set, taking a 2-1 lead with a 25-20 final. A strong fourth set by SBU kept them in the match, taking it 25-21 to force a decisive fifth set. Despite Missouri S&T taking a 5-0 lead, SBU battled back to trail just 10-9. The Miners were ahead 13-12 when they took the final two points of the set, 15-12 for the 3-2 match victory. SBU led most categories in the match, including kills (Ashley Lasher, 16), aces (Ive Miller, 3), assists (Loran Pritchett, 47), and digs (Aleena Peterson, 20).
 
The team will wrap up their 2021 fall season on Saturday, playing host to William Jewell at 3:00 PM.
