Kansas City, Mo. - The SBU Volleyball team closed out their road schedule Friday evening, facing the Rockhurst Hawks. The hosts took the match 3-1, dropping SBU to 10-17 (5-11 GLVC).
Coming out of the gate hot, Rockhurst stole the first set 25-9. The Bearcats didn't let that get to them, dominating the second set 25-13. A much closer third set ended 25-18 in favor of Rockhurst, and they closed things out 25-20 in the fourth set for the 3-1 win.
Rachel Francis led the Bearcats with 9 kills in the match,
Azalea Clendenning had 8,
Ashley Lasher and
Tia Gripado finished with 7 each as well.
Loran Pritchett had the match-high 31 assists, adding 6 digs as well. SBU's digs column was led by
Aleena Peterson, finishing with 16 on the night.Â
The team will close out the season with two home contests, the first coming on Tuesday, November 9 against Missouri S&T. That game is scheduled for 7 PM.
