Springfield, Mo. - The SBU Volleyball team was a few miles down the road Tuesday evening, taking on the Highway 13 rivals in Drury University. The hosts were victorious, winning the match by a score of 3-0. With the loss, SBU falls to 10-16 (5-10 GLVC).
SBU won the first point of the match on a kill by
Ashley Lasher, coming off an assist from
Loran Pritchett. Drury quickly answered back and went on a big run to take the first set 25-15. Going back and forth, the second set featured several lead changes, but ultimately went to the Panthers 25-21. Momentum was in favor of the hosts, carrying it into the third set for the 25-13 victory.
Ashley Lasher was the offensive leader for SBU, finishing with 10 kills on the night.
Loran Pritchett added another 28 assists to her career, along with 6 digs. SBU's digs category was led by
Aleena Peterson, totaling 9 on the evening.
The team's road schedule comes to a close on Friday as the team travels to Kansas City to face Rockhurst. Game time is scheduled for 7 PM.
