Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Volleyball team capped off their week with a strong win over defending GLVC champions, Southern Indiana, Saturday afternoon. That win is the team's third straight, sweeping the week of play with wins over Truman State, McKendree, and USI. With the win, SBU is back at .500 with a 9-9 (5-5 GLVC) record.
The first set was full of runs by both teams, eventually going to SBU by a score of 25-23. Set two saw more of the same, but ended with a 6-point run by the Bearcats to win the set 25-22. The third set had a similar ending, as SBU scored the final five points to take set three 25-17 and the match 3-0.
Loran Pritchett was near another double-double, racking up 25 assists and 9 digs.
Rachel Francis had the match-high 9 kills, and
Lauren Compton and
Ashley Lasher had 7 kills each. Leading the blocks column was Francis as well, finishing with 4 in the match.
Aleena Peterson once again led the team in digs, capturing 12 on the afternoon.
