Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Volleyball team battled hard Friday evening, taking the battle of the Bearcats matchup against McKendree, 3-2. With the win, the team improves to 8-9 (4-5 GLVC) this year.
Southwest Baptist came out strong, winning the first set by a score of 25-17. Bouncing back, McKendree took the second set 25-21 and the third set 25-23. Despite being down 2 sets to 1, SBU fought back and made a statement with dominating 25-11 fourth set victory. The deciding fifth set was tight, but SBU took it 15-10 to win the match 3-2. Loran Prtchett had an outstanding performance, recording 55 assists, 17 digs, 7 kills, and 5 blocks.
Rachel Francis had 17 kills in the match, and
Ashley Lasher finished with 14 kills. Leading the digs column was
Aleena Peterson with 22 digs.
The team will remain at home for a match against Southern Indiana on Saturday, October 9 at 3 PM.
