Springfield, Ill. - The SBU Women's Soccer team took on the Illinois Springfield Prairies Stars Friday evening, the first game of their last road trip. The Bearcats fell short to the Prairie Stars by a score of 2-1. This makes the Bearcats record 2-10-1 (2-9 GLVC) for the year.
In the 1st half, Raegan Edwards kicked the ball, but it fell wide left. The teams were tied up, going back and forth in the rest of the first half. At the beginning of the 2nd half, the Prairie Stars scored to break the 0-0 tie and take the lead. Shortly after, Raegan Edwards shot another one bottom center, but it was saved. The Prairie Stars scored again, extending their lead to 2-0. Maya Cofield took a shot bottom center, but the goalie was there for the save. Later in the 2nd half, Raegan Edwards found the back of the net to cut the deficit to 2-1. The SBU rally was a bit too late, as UIS took the game 2-1. Alli Harrington collected six saves for the Bearcats.
Southwest Baptist will close out their road schedule with a match against the Lewis Flyers on October 24th at 12 PM.
