Romeoville, Ill. - The SBU Women's Soccer team faced off against the Lewis Flyers Sunday afternoon in their final road match of the season. The Bearcats lost to the Flyers with the score 4-2, which makes the Bearcats record 2-11-1 (2-10 GLVC) for the season.
Within six minutes of the game, Raegan Edwards scored the first goal on an assist from Rachel Wolecki. A few minutes later, the Flyers scored to tie the game 1-1. Moments later, the Flyers made another goal to take the lead. Edwards took another shot bottom center, but the ball was saved. At the beginning of the 2nd half, Maya Cofield scored the second goal for the Bearcats, assisted again by Rachel Wolecki. The Flyers made another goal to make the score 3-2. Late in the 2nd half, Lewis scored again to increase the lead. Southwest Baptist fell to the Flyers with the final 4-2. Alli Harrington collected five saves for the Bearcats.
Southwest Baptist will return home to play against Truman State on October 29 at 4 PM.
