Bolivar, Mo. - Following the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament last weekend, the SBU Volleyball team continued back with their GLVC schedule. The Quincy Hawks were in town Friday evening, taking the match by a 3-0 score. The loss drops SBU to 10-12 (5-6 GLVC).
The very first point of the match was scored by SBU, but Quincy got on the board shortly after. The Hawks had a big run midway through the first set, going on to take it 25-18. Jumping out to a 3-0 lead, SBU was looking to take set two. However, Quincy battled back, going on a couple more runs to take set two 25-16. The third set saw SBU down early, but they made a push late in the set. They made the score 18-17, but ended up dropping the final set 25-18.
Rachel Francis was SBU's primary offensive threat, recording 13 kills on the night.
Loran Pritchett had another 18 assists and made 8 digs to go along with it.
Lauren Compton was SBU's digs leader with 10, and three Bearcats finished with 3 blocks.
The team will host the University of Missouri-St. Louis Saturday afternoon, the match scheduled to start at 3 PM.
