Bolivar, Mo. – After a four game road stretch, the SBU Volleyball returned home to play Rockhurst Saturday afternoon. The Hawks took the match 3-0 to drop SBU to 6-9 (2-5 GLVC) on the year.
The first set started with runs by both teams, but ended in a back and forth fashion, going to Rockhurst 25-23. That momentum carried the Hawks to a 22-14 lead in the second set. However, the Bearcats battled back to make the score 25-21 in favor of the Hawks. Continuing their push, the visitors took the third set 25-17 to take the match 3-0.
Lauren Compton was near a double-double, recording 12 digs and 9 kills.
Ashley Lasher led the Bearcats with 10 kills and
Loran Pritchett had 30 assists in the loss.
The team will hit the road for a mid-week game at Truman State before returning back to Bolivar for a weekend series. Their contest against the Bulldogs will be on Tuesday, October 5 at 7 PM in Kirksville, MO.
