Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU Women's Soccer team played against the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles Sunday afternoon. The visitors took the match by a score of 1-0. This makes their record 2-8-1 (2-7 GLVC) for the season.
Within seven minutes of the game, Abby Youngblood kicked the ball, but it missed the net. Raegan Edward also took a shot early on, but the was ball was wide left. In the beginning of the 2nd half, Sophia Lanzafame shot the ball, but the ball went wide right. Southern Indiana came out of the break hot, scoring early in the second half to take the lead. Edwards followed with another shot low center, but it was saved by the goalie. Later in the 2nd half, Allyson Leiber took a shot, and the ball went over the net. Late in the 2nd Rachel Wolecki shot the ball, but the goalie was ready for the ball. Rylie Slayers got four saves for the Bearcats. When the clock hit zero, the Bearcats came up short against the Screaming Eagles with the score 1-0.
Southwest Baptist will travel to Illinois for their next competition, taking on the Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars on October 22nd at 5 PM.
