St. Louis, Mo. – The SBU Women's Soccer team took on the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons Sunday afternoon. The Tritons topped the Bearcats 4-0. Southwest Baptist record moves to 2-7-1 (2-6 GLVC) for the season.
At the beginning of the game, the Tritons scored the first two goals to take the lead. The Bearcats kept moving the ball down the field, getting shots off. Madigan May took a shot low center, but it was saved. Later in the game, the Tritons made another goal to extend their lead to 3-0. Racheal Wolecki kicked the ball low center, but the goalie was ready for the ball. Shortly after, Missouri-St. Louis cashed in on another shot to make the score 4-0. Wolecki hit the ball, but it missed the net. In the 2nd half, the Bearcats kept taking shots. Raegan Edwards kicked the ball high center, but it was saved. Moments later, Edwards came back and fired another shot at the net, but it was blocked. Ashlynn Robinson hit the ball low center and it was saved. Wolecki took another shot, but it missed the net. Madison Eads took one low center, but the ball was saved. A few minutes later, Wolecki took a shot and the ball hit the crossbar. Julia Johnson kicked the ball high center, but the goalie was there. Late in the 2nd half, Edwards took a shot, but the ball was saved. Despite all the shots taken, UMSL kept SBU out of the net, resulting in a 4-0 final.
The Bearcats will return home to take on the Indianapolis Greyhounds on October 15th at 4:30 PM.
