Bolivar, Mo. – The Bearcats extended their winning streak Saturday afternoon, defeating Missouri S&T for the second time this season. SBU dominated the Miners 88-61 to improve to 9-2 (9-2 GLVC), handing the visitors their 10
th loss on the year.
SBU jumped to a quick 6-0 lead in the first two and a half minutes. With 13:35 on the clock, Missouri S&T made a free throw to make the score 11-16 in favor of SBU.
Tyler Williams then scored 7 straight, back-to-back dunks assisted by
Mitch Ganote, and a three pointer in the corner. After a three by the Miners,
Brady Smith and
Juan Morales both hit three's to extend the lead to 29-13 just under 10 minutes into the game. SBU continued to pour on the offense and played extremely tight defense, building a 26 point lead at the half.
The visitors scored the first three points of the second half, but
Joe Miller responded by nailing a three. A few minutes later,
Quinn Nelson made a three to make the lead 29 points.
Tyler Williams hit a three at 14:36 to build the lead to 30 for the first time in the game. Just under 5 minutes left on the clock,

Ricky Crawford Jr. for the three helping SBU to their largest lead of the game at 34 points.
Houston Johnson capped off the game with a layup to make the final score 88-61.
Tyler Williams was outstanding in the win, dropping a career high 24 points on 9-11 shooting, including 5-6 from three.
Jalil Beaubrun had a game-high 8 rebounds. Although he didn't score,
Mitch Ganote made an impact in other areas, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing 7 assists, also snagging 2 steals. The team shot 50.0% from the field and 56.0% from three, holding the Miners to 18-56 shooting from the field (32.1%) and 4-17 (23.5%) from three.
In their next matchup, the Bearcats look to face Drury for the second time in three games. The teams will meet on Tuesday, January 26 at 6:05 PM in Springfield for a makeup game from early December.
