St. Louis, Mo. – Southwest Baptist came up just short in a tight contest with the Tritons of Missouri-St. Louis, falling 68-77. This pushes the Bearcats record to 1-8 (1-8 GLVC) on the season.
The Tritons struck first, but
Regan Tibbits made a three and converted the and-one opportunity to take an early lead. Tibbits along with
Megan Worthington helped to give the Bearcats a 4-point cushion with 4:35 remaining in the first quarter. SBU would find themselves trailing by 7 with 6:34 remaining in the second quarter before sparking a 6-0 run over the next minute. The Bearcats would not trail by more than 7 in the third quarter before bringing it back to a 1-point game on a
Brylee Graddy three with 26 seconds remaining. UMSL extended the lead early in the fourth quarter before the Bearcats clawed back into it late, but the comeback big would come up just short in the end.
The Bearcats finished with 4 players scoring in double digits.

Sydney Bandy (11), and
Megan Worthington (11) helped to pace the Bearcats. Vaught also dished out 4 assists and grabbed 7 rebounds to help the cause. The Bearcats finished with 7 made three-pointers on the game on 43.8% shooting.
Southwest Baptist next game is postponed but will be back in action on January 21 against Drury at home.
