Searcy, Ark. – Southwest Baptist got on the board first but couldn't keep the lead through the 9 innings, falling 1-5. This knocks the Bearcats back down to .500 at 3-3.
Cole Van Every got the start on the mound and was rolling through the first two innings, not allowing a hit.
Josh Torrance got the bats going in the third with a leadoff double to right field.
Devin Greaff followed him up with a single to left to make runners at first and third. A walk would load the bases for
Blake Hobbs who drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to center field. The Bearcats bats fell quite after that, getting 2 more hits in the rest of the game.
Sam Avila had the best day at the plate, going 1 for 2 with a walk. Van Every went 4 innings, giving up just 2 hits and 4 unearned runs.
Adam White came on in relief and shut the door with 2 innings and only 1 hit and no runs.
The Bearcats will be back at home with a double header on February 15 at 12 and 2. Come out and support your Bearcats with their first home series of the year.
