Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist got started slow but got hot late to pull out the win 81-62 over Rockhurst. This pushes the Bearcats record to 14-13 (8-11 GLVC) for the season.
Rockhurst started scoring early taking a quick 15-4 lead in the first 6 minutes. Southwest Baptist would go on a 10-3 run of their own to cut the lead back down to 4 at the end of the first quarter. SBU would start to get to Rockhurst with the full court pressure when
Brylee Graddy drew a flagrant one foul and
Kyleigh Vaught would knock down both free throws to tie the game. A turnover by Rockhurst would result in a pair of layups by
Regan Tibbits to give SBU their first lead of the game. The Bearcats would stretch it out to as much as 7 before halftime, but a 3-point lead was the final result of the first half.
Bailey Rezabek would splash home a three just 30 seconds into the third quarter. The Bearcats would continue to shoot lights out and extended the lead out to 20 at one point in the third. Southwest Baptist would outscore the Hawks 19-15 in the fourth quarter to win 81-62.
Kyleigh Vaught set a career high at the free throw line, going 14 for 16 and notching 22 points. The Bearcats were also led by
