Bolivar, Mo. – The Bearcats used a big fourth quarter to cruise to the win on senior day and secure the winning record for the year. Southwest Baptist improves to 15-13 (9-11 GLVC) with the 76-63 win over William Jewell.
The first quarter was back and forth the entire time with 7 different lead changes and 5 ties during the quarter. Each team shot 45% or above in the first quarter as well. The second quarter was dominated by SBU with the help of a 7-0 run during a two-minute span. The Bearcats outscored the Cardinals 21-13 to take a 6-point lead into the half. The third quarter got started with William Jewell cutting it to one just a minute into the half. The Bearcats started the fourth quarter on a 10-0 run though to break the lead open to 15 early and wouldn't look back, winning by 13.
The Bearcats honored the seniors prior to the game and allowed injured senior
Tyra Kidd to draw the start. Another senior led the Bearcats in scoring as well in
Bailey Rezabek with 27 points.
Kyleigh Vaught also scored 20 points along with 7 assists. Senior
Zahria White owned the glass, grabbing 9 rebounds and 1 block.
