Bolivar, Mo. - The Bearcats monster comeback fell short as they lost to Rockhurst University 58-63. This is the first time this season they have lost two straight. Their record becomes 19-8 (12-7 GLVC). 

Three's by Godfrey Rolle and Joe Miller gave SBU an early 6-0 lead. They led by as much as eight, and led for 11 minutes before Rockhurst struck back the lead. An 11-0 run by the Hawks gave them a 37-22 lead. The Bearcats finished the half with 24 points down by 14.

A deficit at half would not deter these fighting Bearcats as they roared back to start the half. SBU went on an 18-6 run in the first eight minutes to bring the game within two. Teams would trade buckets for another six minutes before SBU took their first lead of the half on a three by Quinn Nelson. SBU would lead by as much as three in the final minutes but fell just short of the finish, falling 58-63. 

Both Damian Prgomet and Godfrey Rolle finished the game with 15 points. Mitch Ganote had 5 assists and 10 rebounds leading the way for the Bearcats. Brady Smith assisted on 7 field goals and had 9 points. SBU went 21-58 from the field shooting 36.2%.

The Bearcats finish up the regular season this Saturday on Senior day as they take on the William Jewell Cardinals. SBU defeated the Cardinals 76-65 in their last meeting. SBU is going for their 20th win of the season for the first time in 10 years. Be sure to come out and support your Bearcat Seniors this Saturday as tip-off is scheduled for 3 P.M.
