Tulsa, Okla. – In their third match of the season, the SBU Women's Tennis team picked up their second win against Southern Arkansas University. With the 4-1 win, SBU improves to 2-1 on the season.
The doubles team consisting of
Dona Abohabaga and
Constanca Crespo won the first match for the Bearcats, defeating their opponents 6-1 on court two. The doubles point was claimed by SBU thanks to
Jill Van den Dungen and
Catarina Zheng on court one, 6-2.
Jill Van den Dungen shifted her momentum over to singles play as well, picking up the second point for SBU on court one, 6-1 6-4. Arkansas State bounced back and won on court 4, trailing 1-2.
Constanca Crespo picked up another point for the Bearcats on court 3, winning 6-4 6-4. Sealing the victory for SBU was
Dona Abohabaga, coming from behind on court 2 to win 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The women's team will have their first "home" match of the year tomorrow, Sunday, February 23 at 4 PM against Missouri Western State University. The match will take place in Springfield, MO at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
