Kirksville, Mo. – The Bearcats came out hot on the road but couldn't keep it going, falling to the Bulldogs 66-80. This makes the Bearcats 13-13 (7-11 GLVC) for the season.
Bailey Rezabek got the game started for SBU with a 3 just 30 seconds in. Truman State would come back and eventually take the lead, but it would never get above 5 points in the first quarter.
Regan Tibbits ended the scoring for the quarter with a layup to tie it at 20 with 30 seconds remaining. Southwest Baptist came out hot in the second with two quick threes to take a 6-point lead. Truman State would lock down on defense the rest of the quarter, only giving up 2 more points and scoring 25 themselves for a 17-point advantage going into halftime.
Southwest Baptist would eventually trail by 23 going into the fourth quarter but would outscore the Bulldogs in the fourth.
Regan Tibbits and
Kyleigh Vaught would combine to score 12 points in the fourth and help the Bearcats outscore the Bulldogs 21-12. Southwest Baptist was led in scoring by
Kyleigh Vaught with 17 followed by
Regan Tibbits (14),
Bailey Rezabek (11), and
Brylee Graddy (10). Tibbits also had 7 rebounds for the Bearcats.
