St. Louis, Mo. – The SBU women's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season to a very good Indianapolis team. The Greyhounds were ranked #4 in the ITA preseason rankings. SBU now sits a 1-1 (0-0 GLVC).
 
The Greyhounds quickly won the doubles match on court 3 6-2, and also won on court 1 6-4 before the match on court 2 was over. Dona Abohabaga and Constanca Crespo were ahead 5-4 on court 2 as the doubles point was taken by UIndy.
 
Keeping their momentum from doubles play, UIndy won their second point on court 2, 6-2 6-2. They then won on court 1 with set scores of 6-2 6-3, just one point from taking the match. Constanca Crespo had a tough first set, falling 6-7 in a tiebreaker. Her opponent then won the second set 6-3 to seal the victory for the Greyhounds.
 
The Bearcats resume play on February 22 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, taking on Southern Arkansas University at 11 AM.
