Kansas City, Mo. – Southwest Baptist got off to a slower start than usually and couldn't pull off the comeback, falling 98-54. This pushes the Bearcats record to 12-12 (6-10 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats started the game with a lid over the basket, not making their first bucket until a
Bailey Rezabek three with 4:05 remaining.
Brylee Graddy would make a layup with 1:55 left and that would be it for the first. Southwest Baptist scored the first bucket of the second quarter as well to cut the deficit to 17. The Bearcats would score 6 more in the final 2 minutes and capped off the quarter with a buzzer beating layup by
Kaitlyn Root.
Southwest Baptist found their shooting rhythm in the second half, shooting 39% from the field. The Bearcats doubled their scoring from the first half, scoring 36 on 11-28 shooting. The Bearcats were led by
Kyleigh Vaught who finished with 5 assists and 11 points.
Sydney Bandy led the Bearcats on the boards with 7 rebounds as well.
Kaitlyn Root came in and played 5 minutes, scoring her first collegiate basket and grabbing 2 rebounds as well.
