Liberty, Mo. – The Bearcats came out on the bottom of the matchup with the Cardinals, falling 64-83. This pushes the Bearcats record to 12-11 (6-9 GLVC) for the season.
Southwest Baptist got started quick with
Kyleigh Vaught and
Bailey Rezabek both making threes to put the Bearcats ahead 10-4 just 4 minutes into the game. SBU would increase the lead to 11 with 1:40 left in the first quarter but would only lead by 7 when the horn sounded. The Bearcats were hot from the field in the first shooting 60% on 9-15 shooting. William Jewell would take the lead 2 minutes into the second quarter. The Bearcats rallied and stretched the lead out to five again before the half but would lead by 2 at the half.
Alexus Johnson led all Bearcat players with 13 points at the break.
Bailey Rezabek started the scoring off for the second half with a layup inside. William Jewell would go on a quick run to get an 8-point lead. Two Free throws by
Regan Tibbits would be the last points of the third quarter to cut the deficit to 6 points.
Bailey Rezabek would get hot in the fourth, scoring 10 points on 3 of 5 shooting. Rezabek made a strong bid for a double-double as well finishing with 9 rebounds to go along with 22 points.
Alexus Johnson(13),
Kyleigh Vaught(13), and
Regan Tibbits(11) would also help to lead the Bearcats.
