Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist couldn't pull off the upset against #1 Drury Panthers at home. Drury remains undefeated on the season while the Bearcats fall to 9-7 (3-5 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats drew first blood when
Zahria White layup. White would make another layup and
Bailey Rezabek three pointer to take a 7-2 early lead. The Panthers responded with a quick 10-0 run to take the lead and they wouldn't surrender it again for the rest of the game. The Bearcats ended the first quarter only trailing 24-17. The second quarter was some of the same story for the Bearcats, but
Bailey Rezabek led SBU with 4 points on two field goals made.
The second half was highlighted by the Bearcats shooting 45% in the third quarter and 50% in the fourth. The Bearcats were led in scoring by
Kyleigh Vaught with 17 as well as
Bailey Rezabek adding 15 points.
De'Jaria Guillory had a very effective 7 points on 3-6 shooting in just 9 minutes of play.
Sydney Bandy helped to clean up the boards with 8 rebounds.
Taliayah Wilson helped protect the pain effectively with 2 blocks for the Bearcats.
