Rolla, Mo. – The Bearcats hit the road again Thursday evening, taking on Missouri S&T. SBU edged S&T 75-71 to claim their 11^th win and 4^th conference win this season.
 
Godfrey Rolle started the game off with an and-one play just 9 seconds after tip-off. Not long after, S&T jumped out to an 11-7 lead, but SBU responded. Scores from Rolle, Damian Prgomet, and Brady Smith flipped the lead back to SBU who held onto the lead until around the 7 minute mark. The Miners built their lead to 9 at one point in the half before SBU brought it back to 32-35 at halftime.
 
Missouri S&T hit a couple three's early in the second half, but SBU quickly brought the deficit down to one, trailing 44-45 with 14:42 left to play. Quinn Nelson and Joe Miller went on a three-making barrage, Nelson making one, then Miller, back to Nelson, and Miller again to boost SBU to a 56-47 lead. Just a few minutes later, Quinn Nelson hit another three to build SBU's lead to 12 points. With 52 seconds left, S&T brought the deficit to just 3, 71-68. Brady Smith practically sealed the game with 26 seconds left, draining a layup. Quinn Nelson made two free throws as well before S&T made one more three, making the score 75-71.
 
All 5 starters finished with double digit points, Quinn Nelson leading the charge with 20 on 7-10 shooting. The team shot a combined 52.8% from the field. Damian Prgomet led two categories, rebounds (6) and assists (4) along with Mitch Ganote.
 
The Bearcats continue this road trip with an afternoon matchup with Maryville on Saturday, January 18.
