Pittsburg, Kan. – The Pitt State Tourney continued Friday, with the Bearcats taking on the East Central University Tigers. SBU swept ECU in three straight sets to pick up their first win of 2019 and even their record at 1-1.
SBU claimed the first set with a tight score of 25-22. The Bearcats continued their momentum, winning sets two and three with scores of 25-16 and 25-15 respectively. Seniors
Greysen Roster and
Emily Thompson paved the way for SBU, each with 11 kills. Roster also led the team in blocks, stuff the Tigers once on her own and twice with another Bearcat. The assists column was led by
Makenzie Bouse, finishing with 25 assists. The Bearcats had 27 digs, pretty evenly dispersed among the team.
SBU wraps up their competition in the Pitt State Tourney Saturday, taking on Midwestern State at 2 PM and Pittsburg State at 7 PM.
