St. Louis, Mo. – The Bearcats faced off against conference leader Maryville and fought hard but came up just short in the end, falling 3-1. This loss pushes SBU's record to 2-2-1 (1-2 GLVC) for the season.
Maryville scored in the 36
th minute to take a 1-0 lead but
Maya Cofield scored on an assist by Raegan Edward in the 44
th minute to make it 1-1 at the half. Maryville scored twice more in the second half to push the final score to 3-1. SBU had 5 shots in the second half in the comeback attempt.
Ashlyn Gibbs helped to keep it close with 4 saves in the game.
