Bolivar, Mo. – The #22 nationally ranked Rockhurst Hawks visited Bolivar Friday afternoon in a GLVC matchup. The Hawks won the game by a score of 4-2. The Women's Soccer team moves to 2-3-1 on this young season.
Less than 14 minutes into the game, SBU broke the scoreless tie.
Sheena Nichol controlled the ball and danced around the defender, eventually booting the ball into the upper left corner of the net for a gorgeous goal. Not long after, Rockhurst scored two goals within the same minute to take the lead 2-1. Just two minutes later,
Raegan Edwards found the back of the net for her 5
th goal of the season, tying the game at 2-2. With just 35 seconds left in the first half, Rockhurst netted another, taking a 3-2 lead into halftime. The visitors scored once more before the end of the game, creating a 4-2 final.
Ashlyn Gibbs made 6 saves in the game, and
Raegan Edwards had 4 shots, 3 of those being on goal.
