Bethany, Okla. – The SBU Volleyball team wrapped up the GAC/GLVC Crossover Saturday with matches against Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene. The Bearcats lost 0-3 and 0-3 in both matches, moving them to 2-10 (0-0 GLVC) on the 2019 season.
Match One
The Bearcats battled the Rangers in the first match of the day, with the Rangers taking the first set 25-20, the second set 25-17, and the third 25-18. NWOSU scored first in each of the sets and never looked back.
Rebecca Rabius led the team in kills (8) and digs (6), while
Makenzie Bouse led SBU in assists once again. Three Bearcats each had 2 blocks throughout the 3 sets.
Match Two
Southern Nazarene defeated Southwest Baptist in 3 sets in the afternoon game, with scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-18. Similar to the earlier game, the opponents scored first in each of the three sets. The Bearcats recorded quite a few blocks in the loss,
Delanie Tipton with 5,
Mikhaela Cochran with 4, and
Greysen Roster with 3.
Rebecca Rabius added another 9 kills to her season total, and
Makenzie Bouse added another 23 assists.
Kylie Talbott led the team in digs with 15.
Up next for the Bearcats is their home opener and conference opener against Lindenwood. That match will take place on Friday, September 27 at 7 PM in the Meyer Wellness Center.
