Bolivar, Mo. – The Bearcats fell to St. Edward's in straight sets but put up a fight and tried to make a comeback bid in the third set. This loss pushed the Bearcats record to 1-5 (0-0 GLVC) on the year.
Southwest Baptist jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in the first set and kept it close until St. Edward's pulled away at the end with three straight points to close it out 25-20. The Bearcats lost the second set with a score of 25-10 and then clawed back in the third set but fell 25-22 to close it out.
Ana Hanes led the Bearcats with 9 kills.
Makenzie Bouse had 23 assists to lead the team as well.
Kylie Talbott contributed 10 digs to the cause as well. The Bearcats will be back in action with the third game of the tourney against Texas A&M-Kingsville at 10:00 AM.
