Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist was unable to pull out the win late against Lindenwood in a hard fought battle. The game ended with a final score of 5-3 pushing the Bearcats record to 15-24 (7-18 MIAA).

Cory Dudley got the start in game one of the weekend series and started strong not allowing any runs over his first 4 innings of work. Caleb Sneed got things started in the first with a single to left, followed by a single by Carl Schwettmann to move Sneed into scoring position. After a walk for Samuel Avila and another by Noah Tucker, that brought in the first run of the game. Avila doubled in the third and later scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 SBU.

Dudley was knocked out of the game in the 5th inning after a solid outing and Adam White came in and closed the door on the Lions pitching 4 scoreless innings. Lindenwood scored three in the fifth and two more in the ninth to make the final 5-3. Caleb Sneed led the Bearcats going 3 for 5 and scoring a run as well as Samuel Avila contributing two more hits on four at bats and driving in a run.

Southwest Baptist will be back in action tomorrow at 1 PM for game two of the series with Lindenwood at Dodson Field.
