Bolivar, Mo - The Bearcats fought hard against Northwest Missouri State but came up just short losing 9-8 in game one and 8-7 in game two. This pushed their record to 8-9 (3-5 MIAA) on the season.

Cory Dudley had a solid start for the Bearcats, not giving up a hit until the third inning. The bats got started early for SBU scoring one in the first on a
Hunter Hisky single up the middle.
Tyler Mathys hit a home run in the second to get it started, followed up with doubles by
Caleb Sneed and
Hunter Hisky scoring three more.
Jackson Soule ended the scoring for the inning with an RBI single down the right field line.

Northwest Missouri State came back with six in the 5th and two in the 6th to take a 9-7 lead.
Carl Schwettmann tried to get a rally going in the bottom of the ninth with a homerun to pull the Bearcats back to within one but that was all that was scored leaving the final at 9-8.

Cory Dudley went 4.0 innings only giving up three hits and one run.
Caleb Sneed led at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.

Game Two
Â
Northwest Missouri state scored the first four runs of the game but SBU came back, scoring seven unanswered run in the fourth and fifth innings.
Trevor Lofstrom hit a homerun in the fourth to bring home three followed by a single by
Luke Winfrey, Sam Avila then singled him home to make it four run in the inning.
Jackson Soule scored on a
Tyler Mathys single in the fifth followed by
Blake Lutgen and
Carl Schwettmann scoring on a double by
Trevor Lofstrom to make it 7-4 SBU.

Northwest came back with four in the eighth to make the final 8-7.
Hunter Hisky led the Bearcats going 3 for 4 as well as
Trevor Lofstrom going 2 for 3 with 5 RBIs.
Dalton Morrow pitched 7 innings giving up 7 hits and 3 earned runs.

The Bearcats will be back in action tomorrow to finish up the series with Northwest Missouri State.
