Springfield, Mo - The SBU Women's team captured their first win of the season after beating the Newman Jets by a score of 4-3.

In doubles, the Jets won all the three doubles matches and took the lead 1-0. 

In singles, Sophomore Constanca Crespo tied the score 1-1 after winning her match two straight sets on court #3. Quickly after, Junior Jill Van Den Dungen added the second point to the Bearcats after good performance on court #1. Junior Sarah Brown gave the lead 3-1 to the Bearcats winning in two straight sets on court #5. The winning and the fourth point came from Senior Klara Vickov on court #2 after winning 7-5 in the third set. The Jets grabbed another 2 points on courts #4 and #6. 

The SBU women's tennis will be back in action again on Friday March 8 to take on University of Missouri Saint Louis at the SBU tennis courts.
