Arkadelphia, Ark. - The Bearcats had a successful second day in Arkadelphia, beating Harding 5-2.
To start off the match, SBU came out strong and won all 3 doubles, to give the team the lead 1-0 before singles. On Court #3,
Max Sanoja and
Ferenc Agoston won their match 6-2. Quickly after,
Raul Caballero and
Adham Gaber secured the doubles point after winning 6-3 on court #2.
Nicholas Gilmore and
Gyorgy Agoston managed to win their first game together as a team 6-4 on court #1.
In singles,
Gyorgy Agoston played with great intensity and focus on court #3 and grabbed the second point very quickly for the Bearcats after winning his match in two straight sets. Harding fought hard in the singles and managed to get their first point on court #4 to narrow the final score down 2-1. But after a very strong performance on court #1 and court #2 from
Raul Caballero and
Adham Gaber, winning their matches in two straight sets, SBU got the 2 points needed to win the game. On court #5
David Szeri managed to add another point to the Bearcats, and remains unbeaten. Harding got their second and last point of the day after winning on court #6.
The SBU Bearcats will back in action again tomorrow to take on Mississippi college. The game is set to start 11 AM.
