Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Volleyball team continued conference play Saturday afternoon when the Bulldogs of Truman State University came to the Meyer Center. The Bulldogs swept the match 3-0 to move the Bearcats to 4-20 (0-9 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats battled hard all day long but ultimately lost the first set 25-23, the second set 25-14, and the third by a score of 25-17. Truman had led 14-8 before SBU used a 3-0 run to bring it to a 14-11 game before Truman pulled away to win the second set 25-14. Truman would take the decisive 3rd set 25-17. SBU would jump out to a 7-6 lead early on but Truman would use a 7-2 run to take control of the set. Mikhaela Cochran and Rachel Pfeifer led the Bearcats with 7 kills. Makenzie Bouse led the way setting up teammates with 23 assists and 10 digs in the loss. Kylie Talbott added in 9 digs as well.
SBU will be back in action Tuesday, October 29th as the Bearcats takes on NAIA foe College of the Ozarks in Bolivar at 6PM.
