Hilta de Oliveira Pereira was born in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Before moving to the United States, Hilta played one season at the professional level.

Hilta came to SBU after spending one season (2017-18) as the assistant coach at Independence Community College in Kansas. At Independence, Pereira primarily trained Middle Blockers, Outside Hitters and Right Sides. Hilta also helped recruit 13 players for the following season.

Hilta graduated in 2017 from Oklahoma Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Recreational Leadership. Hilta played her freshman year at Cloud County Community College (Concordia, Ks.), and transferred to Oklahoma Wesleyan University, were she played as Middle Hitter and Right Side for three years (2014-16). Hilta is now working on her Masters in Athletic Administration, and plans to graduate in May of 2020.

Hilta Pereira currently resides in Bolivar.
