Coach Hlongwane is entering his second season (2023) as head coach of the Southwest Baptist Bearcat men's soccer team. His second year at the helm has a large increase of recruits brought in by Hlongwane helping him seek a bounce back season for the Bearcats.
Hlongwane joins the Bearcats after being the head coach for the Arkansas Baptist College Buffaloes. He was able to begin the program last Fall and recruit a team that will play their first matches Fall of 2022.
Prior to, Hlongwane was the Assistant Soccer Coach at his Alma Mater Central Baptist College for two years. He specialized in conduction practice sessions and player recruiting. He also spent time as a director for the Arkansas Rising Soccer Club and the Arkansas Rush Soccer club.
After graduating college Hlongwane spent time back in Africa as a coach for the ABC Mostepe League team. As well, he joined the staff for Confederations Association Football and South African Football Association.
Hlongwane spent his college playing career at Central Baptist College from 2009-2014. During that time, he earned All-American in 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013. Prior Central Baptist he played on the Under 20 South African National Team.
He graduated from Central Baptist College with his bachelor's degree in Business Administration in December of 2014.
