Southwest Baptist University Athletics

Starks is entering his first season (2019-20) as the Graduate Assistant for the Men’s basketball team.

After graduating from Sterling College, Starks was given the opportunity to serve as the Head Men's JV Coach and Assistant Coach to the Varsity Team at Sterling College. In his first year coaching the JV team, they finished 10-14 overall and 8-8 in conference. In his second year, Starks led the team to a 17-14 overall record, going 10-9 in conference play. His third year Sterling went 11-16 overall and 6-8 in conference, while accomplishing a team goal of beating a JUCO team. Outside of gaining leadership skills, Starks also helped develop the skills of the athletes and helped a few players to play at the varsity level each year.

A few players that Starks helped develop got offered to play professional basketball and continue their dreams.

Starks is excited to be at Southwest Baptist University, as he will be the first male in his family to get his Master’s degree (Athletic Administration).
